nextract energy is a climate tech startup founded at TU Berlin that develops software for battery storage systems in wind and solar parks. Our platform combines energy market optimization, battery control, and predictive analytics to help renewable energy operators use storage assets more profitably.
Your Role
As a Research Intern, you will take ownership of research topics in energy and battery storage. You will turn market, technical, and regulatory information into practical insights and support the team flexibly across product, project, and business development tasks.
What You'll Work On
- Research energy markets, battery storage applications, and renewable energy integration
- Analyze energy market data, technical reports, and regulatory developments
- Support the development of battery storage use cases for wind and solar parks
- Prepare concise research summaries, internal briefings, and customer material
- Contribute to product strategy, project preparation, and business development
- Collaborate closely with founders and engineers
What We're Looking For
- Studies in Industrial Engineering, Energy Systems, Engineering, Business, Economics, Physics, or a related field
- Strong interest in renewable energy, battery storage, electricity markets, and the energy transition
- Analytical mindset and ability to structure complex information clearly
- Independent, reliable, and proactive way of working
- Willingness to take ownership of research topics and support across different areas
- Good written communication skills in English or German
- Background in Energy & Resources or a similar energy focus is welcome
- Mandatory internship possible depending on your university requirements
